How Can You Preserve Wedding Cakes?

Assuming you won’t be around right after your wedding reception, you’ll need to delegate the task of preserving your cake to a friend, family member, the wedding planner, or even the caterer.

The first step in preserving wedding cakes is removing any decorations, such as flowers, ribbons, and toppers. Then, if possible, you’ll need to get the cake, whether whole or in slices, straight into a freezer. At least a few hours or overnight in the freezer is recommended, as this will harden the frosting and prevent it from smearing across the wrapping.
