Ages 8+ (8-15 must be accompanied by an adult w/class purchase as well)
No experience required!

Choice of Yellow vanilla OR Chocolate cake layers
Vanilla buttercream frosting

What’s included?

In this hands-on class led by one of our highly skilled decorators with 10+ years of custom decorating experience you will leave this class feeling more confident and comfortable decorating your next celebration cake at home! We’ll teach you how to torte a cake, fill, crumb coat, thick ice, and decorate your own 3-layer, 6-inch cake!

There will be a guided demonstration of basic tools and techniques to begin cake decorating! This will include tips and tricks on how to fill, hold and use a piping bag; how to level, tort, fill and frost cakes; how to thick ice your cake with sharp edges; how to add our signature watercolor design; and how to add rosettes.

Other highlights include; learning different rosette placement, writing messages in buttercream, and how to properly store your cakes.

Recipes and reference sheets will be included to practice your skills at home! There will also be additional recommended tools for sale that we use at the bakery. Check out one of our more advanced classes in the future to go more in depth after you’ve tried the basics!

If you will be attending with a friend that has purchased a separate ticket, please provide their name below and we will get you next to each other! If you are purchasing more than one ticket, please provide the names of the additional guests below.

Pro-tip! Your creations can be frozen to save for serving at a later date! Just ask your instructor for proper storage!

Cancellation Policy

Payment in full for classes is due upon registration for the class and is non-refundable. You may send another participant in your place if you are unable to attend. If you need to use this option, please contact us ASAP via email or phone so we are aware of this change BEFORE the start of the course.

If for any reason For the Love of Sugar LLC needs to cancel a class due to circumstances beyond our control (e.g., power outages, facility issues, inclement weather etc.), we will make several attempts to contact you via email or telephone. If this occurs, For the Love of Sugar will issue a full refund to the original form of payment, a gift card, or work to reschedule a date in the future. Please note that For the Love of Sugar reserves the right to modify class outlines and menus at any time due to ingredient availability or seasonality.

If class minimum is not met, the class may be canceled. You will be given the option to receive a full refund, credit, or reschedule.
